 Overview of the position.

 The managing director of accounting operations for Alaska Airlines decides on long-term strategy and controls financial results. In this role as a people leader, with a focus on efficient processes and precise financial results, you will set strategic goals and direction for a team of leaders in revenue accounting, accounts payable, fuel accounting, cargo accounting, customer payments and collections, and fraud protection. In addition to providing thought leadership and strategic direction to executives, this executive position reports to the VP Finance and Controller and requires expert-level knowledge of revenue accounting, best practices for the airline industry, and best practices for accounting operations. This personification of Alaska Airlines is a highly valued consultant to the company's executive team.

 The main tasks.

  •  Establish a long-term plan for your accounting operations, concentrating on efficient processes and accurate financial results. These processes ought to cover revenue accounting, payables management, fuel accounting, cargo accounting, customer payments and collections, and fraud prevention.
  •  oversee the month-end close process for Accounting Operations, making sure that close is delivered on time, with accurate results, and that balance sheet account reconciliations are error-free.
  •  While promoting strategic and systems thinking, talent development, and succession planning across teams and functions, effective performance management and ongoing feedback will help you develop direct and indirect reports.
  •  Give executive leaders a presentation on your financial insights, findings, and suggestions.
  •  Together with the Managing Director, Supply Chain, co-sponsor Air Group's procure-to-pay transformation initiatives to advance process improvements, automation, and efficiency gains.
  •  Help Air Group's accounting procedures prepare for impending technological and business changes, including one-order, NDC, and more.
  •  Establish and monitor key performance indicators and metrics to evaluate the efficiency of the accounting processes being used.
  •  Analyze the accounting operations team's and its processes' technical expertise, effectiveness, and productivity. In order to better serve the needs of the company, strive to continuously improve accounting operations.
  •  Partner successfully with other finance leaders and non-accounting functions in order to communicate, cooperate, strengthen controls, and advance process improvements.
  •  Strategic advice on the accounting implications of business changes should be given to enterprise leaders.
  •  Lead cross-departmental projects and initiatives and provide insights using your in-depth knowledge of the accounting and finance procedures, data sources, and financial systems used by Air Group.
  •  Experience, training, and abilities pertinent to the position.

 Required.

  •  10 years of relevant financial reporting, analysis, or reporting experience.
  •  Having led successful teams for the past five years, I have experience leading people.
  •  having a bachelor's degree in finance or a closely related field, or being willing to get one within six years of the start date.
  •  possessing the ability to communicate and establish trust with business partners at the most senior or executive level.
  •  Excellent public speaking, influencing, and motivational abilities, as well as a vivacious, positive, and executive-level presence.
  •  A high school diploma is necessary as a prerequisite.
  •  It takes 18 years of age.
  •  to be able to work legally in the U.S. S. S.

 Preferred.

 Scale of Compensation.

  •  $182,600 - $301,300 / year.

  •  The starting pay for this position is listed above in the pay range and total target compensation package. Your pay will be influenced by a number of factors, including your location, your level of experience and skill in the relevant field, as well as other Alaska/Horizon employees. Internal equity is also taken into consideration when determining your pay.
