What to expect.

 Locations are flexible, but Palo Alto, California, or Austin, Texas, are preferred.

 The "Americas Utility Energy Team" specializes in creating front-of-the-meter battery energy storage (BESS) applications for clients like electric utilities, independent power producers, and renewable energy developers. Projects are typically large, utility-scale BESS deployments to integrate renewable energy sources, boost capacity, or provide grid services.

 For this multifaceted position, it is expected that the candidate will have strong technical knowledge of Tesla's energy product line and strong business knowledge of the energy storage market. The Sales Manager will supervise projects from conception through contract execution with help from Tesla's technical and business support teams. This role's responsibilities will be split between managing tasks internally and externally. It will be necessary to coordinate various project teams made up of professionals in engineering, finance, law, and other fields. The development and management of customer relationships takes place outside of the company, where contracts are negotiated and signed.

 What You'll Do.

  •  Take control of a project pipeline with opportunities for short-, medium-, and long-term work that spans several states, project types, and markets.
  •  Lead the sales cycle, which includes deal initiation, project management, contract negotiation, and closing a targeted annual product volume and/or revenue (quota bearing).
  •  By identifying associated risks, maximizing technical and commercial factors, and articulating Tesla's value in comparison to competing products, you can manage techno-economic analysis of opportunities.
  •  As and when required, management should be notified.
  •  Create quotes and deliver thorough, accurate project proposals to clients, frequently in response to formal, intricate utility RFPs.

 What you plan to bring.

 • 4-5 years of minimum work experience in the power industry or in the field of renewable energy.

 • Professional experience in business development or customer-facing sales.

 • A working knowledge of battery systems, renewable energy sources, and grid markets.

 • Practical experience in contract negotiations for renewable energy sources or energy storage.

 •Experience with managing projects in dynamic, time-constrained settings.

 •Exceptional quantitative and analytical abilities in areas such as complex price models, storage/renewable project economics, techno-economic optimizations, quantitative risk analysis, etc.

 •Excellent written and verbal communication skills. with ease in both spoken and written English.

 Specialist in the MS Office suite.

 •The capability of managing multiple tasks at once.

 •A burning desire to speed up the transition of the world to sustainable energy.

 •The capacity for occasional travel.
