Reporting to the Senior Manager, SEC Reporting, this position will be a part of the Corporate Accounting Team. The month-end accounting close for all Yelp entities, including our foreign offices, is handled by this ambitious, fun, and collaborative team before the results are combined and communicated to all pertinent parties, both internally and externally.  You'll do the following.

  •  You will organize disclosures and assist with quarterly Securities and Exchange Commission ("SEC") filings. Forms 10-Q and 10-K make up the majority of these, though other forms may be added as needed.
  •  Making sure the aforementioned filings comply with SEC and U. regulations. General accepted accounting principles ("GAAP") requirements and XBRL tagging requirements specified by Sdot.
  •  You will support the Investor Relations team by providing timely and accurate financial information, reviewing key earnings information, and offering additional insights as part of the process to communicate Yelp's results through the quarterly Shareholder Letter.
  •  You will review pertinent accounting literature, provide technical memos and instructions, and conduct relevant accounting literature reviews to make sure Yelp is accounting for any changes in accordance with U. GAAP for Sdot. This process includes gathering information, assessing it, and documenting recent accounting pronouncements that have an impact on Yelp.
  •  You will assist in the creation of monthly accounting journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations for your assigned areas of responsibility as part of our month-end close process. This may include, among other things, capitalized software development costs and stock compensation.
  •  You will ensure that policies and procedures are followed in accordance with Sarbanes Oxley ("SOX") requirements. Coordinate SOX testing with internal and external auditors and ensure that any issues are fixed.
  •  You will help with and lead a variety of other projects, including SOX-related ones like implementing control flowcharts or other new system implementations that affect SOX or SEC reporting.
  •  You will work with pertinent cross-functional stakeholders in conjunction with the larger Accounting team, FPandA, investor relations, legal, and tax departments, among others.
  •  You'll carry out financial statement analytics for key areas of responsibility as part of your monthly fluctuation analyses with finance management and be able to defend your conclusions.
  •  You will complete various original projects and ad hoc analyses as they are assigned.

 To succeed, you need:.

  •  You get a B. S. /B. A. with a degree in business administration, accounting, or a related subject.
  •  You've been working in the field for at least two years.
  •  You hold a CPA license or are pursuing one.
  •  It would be ideal if you had experience working on SEC filings for publicly traded companies (through an audit background or employment with a company).
  •  You are familiar with US GAAP and accounting research methods.
  •  It's known that SOX exists.
  •  You are especially skilled with Microsoft Word and Excel.
  •  You have a very strong attention to detail.
  •  When working on multiple projects at once, frequently in a busy environment, you are able to prioritize them while maintaining your deadlines.
  •  You communicate well both orally and in writing.
  •  You are a strong analytical thinker with the ability to follow through and successfully implement process improvement.
  •  You may have experience with the Oracle accounting system, but it's not required.
  •  You show an interest in cooperating as a team.
