 follows local, state, and federal regulations when performing patient registration and data entry. You are in charge of handling third-party rejections and many customer inquiries while working directly under supervision. obeys standard operating procedures and performs duties in accordance with company rules and regulations. responsible for using pharmacy systems to gather data on patients and medications. The assigned department may change the duties.

 Duties of the position.

•  Process new patient registration by entering data into the appropriate system while adhering to the data entry instructions and guidelines provided by Walgreens. handles patient prescription requests in accordance with HIPAA guidelines and enters refill requests for processing. interprets medical abbreviations (SIG codes), investigates issues, and locates any missing prescription data. Every data entry-related exception is fixed.
•  takes care of patient correspondence (inbound calls, chats, and emails) and, as required, makes outbound calls to prescribers and patients.
•  obtains data, examines, corrects, and re-submits Third Party Rejects for processing in accordance with each plan's guidelines. Calls insurers and other parties to obtain information, obtain an override approval, or to handle third-party rejections in other ways.
•  the facility's pharmacists as well as pharmacists who work elsewhere. finds problems and, when necessary, brings them to the attention of senior level staff.
•  A technician license or certification must be acquired within the first 90 days and kept up to date.
•  In accordance with the terms of any bonus plans that may be applicable, an employee in this position can anticipate earning an hourly rate of $16.50 plus bonuses. •  You have to be at least 18 years old.
•  should reside in Texas.
•  The Texas State Board of Pharmacy license for Pharmacy Technicians must be up to date.
•  either a GED or a high school diploma.
•  Computer fundamentals like how to turn a computer on and off, point and click a mouse to open and close programs, switch between programs, save files, print documents, and/or access online information.
•  Basic search engine skills include using the back, forward, and stop buttons to navigate, opening a browser, entering URLs in the correct places, using a search engine, bookmarking a website, and completing online forms.
•  Intermediate level of keyboarding proficiency (touch typing at least 25 WPM, document formatting).
•  effective communication in both the written and spoken word.

 Suitable qualifications.

•  At least a year's worth of pharmacy technician experience is required, ideally in a retail or call center environment.
•  a certificate or registration from the state's pharmacy board or another organization with at least 18 months of pharmacy technician experience and is nationally recognized.
•  experience providing customer service to internal and external clients, including assessing client satisfaction and upholding service quality standards.
•  Intermediate to advanced keyboarding skills, including touch typing and document formatting (at least 35 WPM).
•  proficiency in both English and Spanish.
