complies with local and federal regulations when performing data entry and patient registration. You are in charge of managing third-party rejections and responding to lots of customer inquiries while working directly under supervision. follows standard operating procedures and completes tasks in accordance with corporate policies and standards. accountable for using pharmacy systems to collect data on patients and medications. Obligations at work.
- Utilizing the Walgreens prescription data entry procedures and instructions, process new patient registration by entering data into the appropriate system. handles patient prescription requests in accordance with HIPAA regulations and enters refill requests for processing. locates missing prescription information, recognizes issues, and deciphers medical acronyms (SIG codes). handles all occurrences of data entry exceptions.
- Managing patient communication (including emails, chats, and phone calls) and making outbound calls to prescribers and patients as required.
- Resolves Third Party Rejects by reviewing, gathering information, making corrections, and resubmitting for processing in accordance with particular plan requirements. Make calls to insurance companies and other businesses to request information, obtain approval for an override, or identify alternative solutions for dealing with third-party rejections.
- aids pharmacists, both those employed there and those working elsewhere. finds problems and, when necessary, brings them to the attention of senior level staff.
- Get a technician license or certification that is active and keep it up to date within the first 90 days.

The bare minimum.
- You must be at least 18 years old.
- must be a resident of Texas.
- must be a Pharmacy Technician with an active Texas State Board of Pharmacy license.
- a GED or high school diploma.
- Basic PC skills include turning on and off a computer, using a mouse to point and click on programs, switching between programs, saving files, printing documents, and/or logging onto the internet.
- Basic search engine skills include opening a browser, typing URLs in the appropriate place, using a search engine, bookmarking a website, navigating with the back, forward, and stop buttons, and filling out online forms.
- Intermediate keyboarding skills (touch typing at least 25 WPM, document formatting).
- both verbally and in writing, express yourself clearly.
Preferable Requirements.
- a year's worth of pharmacy technician experience, preferably in a retail or call center environment.
- at least 18 months of experience working as a pharmacy technician, and a certificate or state registration issued by the state board of pharmacy or another organization that is nationally recognized for certification.
- experience offering customer service to internal and external clients, including gauging their satisfaction and adhering to service quality standards.
- Keyboarding abilities between intermediate and advanced (at least 35 WPM, touch typing, document formatting).
- fluency in both English and Spanish.
