In accordance with local, state, and federal regulations, performs data entry and patient registration. You are responsible for handling third party rejects and a significant volume of customer inquiries while working closely with a manager. follows standard operating procedures and completes tasks in accordance with corporate policies and standards. obligated to access pharmacy systems to obtain data on patients and medications.  Job obligations.

•  Process new patient registration by entering data into the appropriate system while adhering to the Walgreens prescription data entry procedures and guidelines. handles prescription requests from patients in accordance with HIPAA rules and enters refill requests for processing. locates missing prescription information, recognizes issues, and deciphers medical acronyms (SIG codes). handles all occurrences of data entry exceptions.
•  Manage patient communication (inbound calls, chats, and emails) and make outbound calls as required to prescribers and patients.
•  Resolves Third Party Rejects by checking, collecting information, making necessary corrections, and resubmitting for processing in accordance with the demands of the particular plan. Calls insurance companies and other organizations to request information, obtain approval for an override, or discover an alternative strategy for handling rejections from third parties.
•  helps pharmacists, both those employed there and those employed elsewhere. Determines problems and, as required, alerts senior level staff to them.
•  A license or certification for technicians must be obtained within the first 90 days and maintained in good standing.

 Requirements at a minimum.

•  You have to be at least 18 years old.
•  to be a resident of Texas.
•  must be a Pharmacy Technician with an active Texas State Board of Pharmacy license.
•  High school diploma or a GED.
•  Computer fundamentals, such as how to turn a computer on and off, point and click a mouse to open and close programs, switch between programs, save files, print documents, and/or access online information.
•  Using a search engine, bookmarking a website, using the back, forward, and stop buttons to navigate, and completing online forms are a few examples of fundamental search engine skills.
•  (Touch typing at least 25 WPM, document formatting) Intermediate level keyboarding skills.
•  effective communication in both the written and spoken word.

 Preferable credentials.

•  At least a year's worth of pharmacy technician experience is required, ideally in a retail or call center environment.
•  a certificate or registration from the state pharmacy board or another organization with at least 18 months of experience as a pharmacy technician, as well as a national organization's recognition.
•  experience providing customer service to internal and external clients, including assessing client satisfaction and upholding service quality standards.
•  Intermediate to advanced keyboarding skills (at least 35 WPM, touch typing, document formatting).
•  Fluency in Spanish and English.
