About the position:

Systems Development Engineering (SDE) is a position at Google where you manage large-scale services and systems. SDEs use their engineering expertise in novel ways to automate the routine and reduce labor. You will collaborate with our hardware testing engineers, hardware engineers, software engineers, and researchers to enhance and preserve the stability of our unconventional large-scale capture systems in this position. Software (such as software deployment automation, PC configuration, network configuration, and software tool testing) and hardware (such as networking design and PC hardware setup) will be your areas of focus.

For this full-time position, the US base salary ranges from $96,000 to $139,000, including a bonus, equity, and benefits. Role, level, and location determine our salary ranges. The minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations are shown in the range on each job posting. Workplace location and additional factors, such as job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training, influence individual pay within the range. • On non-standard large-scale capture systems, compile, deploy, and test internal and third-party software.
• Monitor the health and status of distributed capture systems and automate software deployment on them.
• Design, configure, and network for camera-to-camera and personal computer communication.
• Build and maintain capture computers as well as troubleshoot custom hardware solutions. Set up and maintain small rendering server farms.
• Low-level control software for specialized hardware like lighting, cameras, and depth sensors, as well as tools written in a variety of programming languages, can be tested and put into use across multiple platforms.
