Key requirements:

Proficient knowledge of distributed data stores like Kafka, Cassandra, Redis, Solr, and others, as well as extensive professional experience developing software in Java or C++ with a strong grasp of object-oriented concepts and design strong abilities in performance tuning and production debugging.

• Experience working on distributed systems and complex problems where scalability and performance are crucial (every millisecond counts). You must be able to work on your own and with cross-functional teams well.

The media engineering group at Apple powers a number of features found in Apple client apps and supports tens of millions of pieces of content in over 150 markets that are enjoyed by hundreds of millions of users: iTunes, iBooks, podcasts, Apple Music, and Apple TV+ are just a few examples. We have particular and growing requirements for data consumption and storage. By providing and supporting features like caching, queuing, structured and unstructured storage, and many more, you will contribute to the development of the next generation of platform and infrastructure services.

You will build pipelines, infrastructure platforms, and services that can scale quickly and deliver personalized and non-personalized data with very low latency with multiple AMP teams, from shop and commerce to research and advice. You must be someone who questions assumptions openly, works well in a team under pressure, and approaches issues with sophisticated technical solutions.

The base salary at Apple is a component of our overall compensation package and is set within a range. This gives you a chance to advance in a role as your skills improve. The starting salary for this position is between $130,000 and $242,000, but your actual salary will be determined by your skills, experience, qualifications, and location.
