Principal Obligations:

The selected candidate will oversee and direct catering vendors for assigned hubs and/or line stations as Manager - Catering Operations & Logistics to ensure a safe and reliable operation. The manager will ensure that all relevant operating performance targets are met and drive improvements to internal and external customer metrics through direct leadership and collaboration. This is a job at an airport, and 20% to 40% of the time is spent traveling to make sure assigned stations are properly supervised. The successful candidate will work closely with internal stakeholders like Inflight Services, Airport Operations, Menu Strategy & Planning, and Food Safety as a key member of the cross-divisional operations team. Additionally, this position will support efforts to reduce waste, efficient warehouse management, responsible use of United's equipment and materials, and inventory ordering and stock management.

  • Vendor & Performance Management: Continuously look at the performance of vendors and the data on internal and external customer satisfaction to find trends, come up with useful insights, and make decisions based on data. Make certain that the identified root causes are accurate and that the vendor is accountable for the corrective measures, action plans, and timelines.
  • Take part in organized critical thinking with sellers to determine huge or potentially repeating issues. Identify any United obstacles and lead or influence improvements within the organization.
  • Maintain situational awareness and vendor readiness during peak times, irregular operations, and schedule changes; as needed, make tactical decisions and ensure that all parties involved communicate effectively.
