On the TDaaS team, the Data Engineer will be in charge of transforming data from various systems into insights and analytics for business stakeholders. To implement technology solutions that are scalable, resilient, and effective, you will make use of cloud-based infrastructure. You will work with DBAs, cross-functional teams, data engineers, data analysts, data scientists, and business leaders. Using Agile methodology, you will design, implement, and operate data engineering solutions that enable users to make informed business decisions.

The Data Engineer should be self-motivated, able to work on their own, and familiar with the entire software development lifecycle, from design to deployment. Have a thorough comprehension of the entire lifecycle of data engineering and the significance of high-quality data for applications, machine learning, business analytics, and reporting. The design of BI systems, big data architecture and technology landscape, API consumption, ETL/ELT orchestration, and business intelligence tools will all be important technical skills for successful candidates. The candidate should be able to organize and communicate well, and they should feel at ease working in a fast-paced environment.

In a fast-paced environment, you should be able to manage and lead assigned technical projects. As we work in a cross-functional environment and interact with all business divisions, excellent written and verbal communication skills are required. You must demonstrate exceptional interpersonal "soft" skills and insatiable curiosity. The "can do" attitude necessary to solve problems makes ideal candidates more than just knowledgeable.

The location of this position could be Minneapolis, MN or Atlanta, GA. WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED (MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS) Experience developing and maintaining ETL pipelines Experience working with data development and database technologies like Python, PLSQL, and so on

• Knowledge of working with queries and applications, including performance tuning, utilizing indexes, and materialized views to improve query performance. Identify necessary business rules for extracting data along with functional or technical risks related to data sources (e.g.,
• data latency, frequency, etc.). Solid understanding of writing test cases to ensure data quality, reliability, and high level of confidence. Track record of advancing new technologies to improve data quality and reliability. Continuously improve quality, efficiency, and scalability of data pipelines.
• Know the best practices for data ingestion, storage, and delivery design Consistently prioritizes self- and others' safety and security.
• Develop initial queries for profiling data, validating analysis, testing assumptions, driving data quality assessment specifications, and defining a path to deployment.

Experience or familiarity with Tableau, Power BI, or other BI tools would be advantageous.

Knowledge of current development patterns and platforms (Azure, AWS, and GCP); experience in consulting and facilitation; strong interpersonal and communication skills; demonstrates that privacy is a priority when handling personal data, and where permitted by applicable law, must have received or be willing to receive the COVID-19 vaccine by date of hire to be considered for U.S.-based job, if not currently employed by Delta Air Lines, Inc.
