Career Overview.

 Under the direct supervision of a manager, manage a heavy workload of incoming and outgoing calls with clients, medical practices, patients, or other service providers regarding the company's goods or services. Ensures that all contacts receive prompt and courteous service. The assigned department may be responsible for different tasks.

 Requirements for the position.

  •  Follows established policies, SOPs, and procedures when responding to routine, generic questions and issues that are submitted by clients, doctors' offices, patients, and third parties via a variety of sources. uses all available data to address client issues and reach the best decision. sends complicated questions and problems to higher-level employees.
  •  utilizes a computer program to keep track of requests, log them, and check the status of requests that require further action or the involvement of other parties. keeps track of contact details, complaint information, remarks, and actions.
  •  Coordinates when necessary with other functional areas. sends escalated, unresolved issues to the departments for more research.
  •  contacts customers, third-party vendors, clients, or the patient's physician to respond to queries or to inform them of findings from inquiries and upcoming changes.
  •  answers inquiries regarding one or more business lines.

 Minimum standards.

  •  High school diploma or a GED.
  •  Intermediate keyboarding skills (touch typing, at least 25 WPM, document formatting).
  •  Computer fundamentals, such as how to turn a computer on and off, point and click a mouse to open and close programs, switch between programs, save files, print documents, and/or access online information.
  •  Some examples of fundamental search engine skills include opening a browser, typing URLs in the appropriate place, using a search engine, bookmarking a website, using the back, forward, and stop buttons to navigate, and submitting online forms.

 Qualifications that are suggested.

  •  a year's worth of experience working in call centers or centralized services.
  •  knowledge of medicine or retail.
  •  experience providing customer service to internal and external clients, including upholding service quality standards and gauging client satisfaction.
  •  Having intermediate keyboarding skills (touch typing at least 35 words per minute, document formatting).
  •  Fluency in both English and Spanish.

In Colorado, a worker in this position can expect to earn a salary/hourly rate of between $13.00 and $17.00 plus bonuses in accordance with the guidelines of any bonus plans, if any.
