Target, one of the top retailers in the United States, is a Fortune 50 company with a strong brand.
- Along with Target's distinctive retail brand, finance operations are improving. With a seat at the table, you will be much more than just a back-end calculator; you will be a true collaborative partner. You'll benefit your team and internal clients by sharing your unique perspective, knowledge, and enthusiasm for the job. Finance Operations will enable you to tackle the interesting difficulties of the competitive retail industry rather than concentrating on just one aspect of the business. You'll see the effects of your contributions in almost every aspect of this thriving business. You'll also advance professionally and overcome obstacles while preserving a healthy work-life balance. You'll use your aptitude for precise accounting, operational innovation, and process management as you promptly and kindly assist and counsel business partners. Your performance will have a significant impact on Target's business initiatives and core retail operations.
- As a Senior Tax Analyst in Payroll, you will be in charge of W-2s, tax filing and withholding, auditing processes, ensuring federal and state compliance, and all other facets of the payroll tax function. You will direct the cross-functional year-end process, assist with escalating payroll tax issues, and oversee the cross-functional quarterly tax filing process to deliver timely and accurate W-2s for roughly 750k team members.
- As a Senior Tax Analyst, you will work closely with our domestic and international payroll tax teams, as well as Target business partners, to collect data, direct the preparation of tax filings, and ensure that documentation and review of tax filings are finished promptly and accurately. Additionally, you will carry out research, examine complex tax issues, and support the team with tax audit issues. You'll apply your time management abilities to prioritize team goals that are in conflict. Through innovative problem-solving and analysis, you'll increase efficiency as you work with large volumes of complex data to find process improvements and automation, enhance accurate and timely tax payments and filings, and deliver metrics that lead the industry. Job responsibilities are subject to change at any time due to business needs.
About you:
- a first-year accounting degree, or equivalent work experience.
- for at least two years, of experience with payroll or taxes.
- To highlight your leadership experience, focus on inclusivity, career development, and support.
- strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- It is preferable if you have previous experience using data and analytical software like Alteryx or Excel.
- Experience with MasterTax, Workday Payroll, or CPP is a plus.
This position may be considered for a Remote or Hybrid work arrangement (internally referred to as "Flex for Your Day") depending on Target's needs. In a remote work arrangement, a team member does not have a desk at a Target location, works full-time from home or another non-Target location, and is only allowed to visit the corporate headquarters up to four times a year. Your core role may be performed remotely or onsite at a Target location as part of a hybrid or flexible work arrangement, depending on what your role, team, and tasks required for that day. Work obligations may not be carried out outside the country where the primary work location is located unless otherwise specified by Target.
