The Amazon Security Special Programs Evaluations Assessments and Response (SPEAR) Team is seeking a motivated, innovative, and results-driven technical program manager (TPM) for the Wireless Security (WiSec) Preliminary Evaluations (PE) team. The WiSec PE team is in charge of assessing Amazon's overall wireless security posture and using hardware and automation to increase WiSec's influence. WiSec PE uses procedures to identify and address problems with the world's wireless security. The team closely collaborates with other teams in order to adopt cutting-edge technologies and incorporate them into platforms that analyze every aspect of Amazon's wireless ecosystem. The objective of this program is to make wireless security widely accessible.
The WiSec PE team is looking for a Wireless Security TPM to help manage a project to automate wireless security validation across Amazon. The WiSec TPM will be in charge of managing sprint cycles, procuring capabilities (both hardware and software), executing contracts, working with legal advisors, communicating program status and needs, supervising the replacement of legacy test devices, and managing the installation of new test devices at Amazon facilities around the world. As a result, customers can continue to trust Amazon to operate its wireless infrastructure to the highest standards. If you are a self-starter with exceptional communication skills who enjoys the challenge of owning your own program, increasing efficiency, and delivering results independently, this position will give you a great opportunity to showcase your abilities. A strong candidate will have a background assisting an engineering team in achieving goals, networking experience, project management experience, and project management track record. Even though this job is located far from the center of the US, it still requires up to 50% travel, both domestically and abroad.
Principal responsibilities of the position.
As a TPM on the team, you'll help manage every aspect of your own program by establishing projects, acquiring resources, working with engineers to create realistic roadmaps, influencing outside teams to expand your program, monitoring progress, tracking findings, and clearly communicating results and obstacles. Utilizing effective written and verbal communication skills, you will be able to articulate project status, argue for required resources, and escalate findings. Up to the Director level, you will lead complex business and technical discussions on your own with clarity and succinctness. You will work with teams throughout Amazon to strategically improve wireless security, address questions from the public, and implement security best practices. You'll assist security projects as needed and properly escalate.
In relation to the team.
The infrastructure, tools, and services of Amazon are examined for wireless vulnerabilities by the Amazon SPEAR Wireless Security team. We work as a small but integral part of a larger assessment team that identifies vulnerabilities in various security domains. We are a multinational security team with members scattered across various countries. Since we take the security of the data we collect from our customers very seriously, we are constantly looking out for previously unknown security issues.
