 SUMMARY OF THE ROLE.

  •  The AWS Premium Support team is seeking a skilled Operations Manager with a central time zone (CT) location to virtually manage a team of 15-20 Support Engineers who provide first-rate support on all AWS offerings. Our customer-facing engineers help customers with a wide range of technical issues, from general EC2 Linux advice to technical deep-dives identifying and resolving complex Big Data (EMR, Data Pipeline) configuration and third party integration issues. Support engineers also develop many of their own tools and work closely with their peers who are developing the offerings.
  •  An AWS Engineer works on a wide range of technical issues, but they may also coach or mentor new hires, develop and present training, collaborate with development teams on difficult issues or contact deflection initiatives, participate in new hiring, write tools or scripts to help the team, or work with leadership on process improvement and strategic initiatives.
  •  Our engineers act as the "voice of the customer" and have a strong voice within the development teams when it comes to reoccurring issues or feature requests. Since we follow the path of the sun and have Premium Support sites all over the world, there is no requirement for overtime in this position.
  •  A qualified candidate must have a strong focus on the needs of our diverse customer base, be able to multitask, and be skilled in both written and verbal communication in order to help our customers with their complex technical problems.

 The responsibilities of your position are as follows:.

  •  Take technical support requests from customers in-hand.
  •  Deliver recurring reports on operational performance after finishing the analysis.
  •  Provide comprehensive prelaunch planning, metrics, and analyses of service disruptions.
  •  Advice on how to incorporate new AWS services into clients' corporate architecture is needed.
  •  Be the customer's advocate within AWS and be their voice.
  •  Work together with some of the world's best technologists.
  •  To ensure that customer issues are resolved as soon as possible, work directly with Amazon Web Service engineers.
  •  The ideal applicant will be very analytical, possess managerial expertise with technical teams, and be highly technical. This person will also have a passion for the growth and success of AWS clients and a track record of leading initiatives to improve support-related processes and the technical support experience.  REQUIREMENTS THAT ARE A MUST.

  •  Engineering, computer science, or IT degree, or equivalent experience.
  •  7+ years of successful experience leading engineering teams in a fast-paced operations environment, including 5+ years as a senior manager.
