 In order to power all of Wayfair's frontends, our GraphQL Platforms team is building one of the core data platforms using state-of-the-art hardware. Wayfair just switched to GraphQL, but the federated ecosystem already handles more than 10 billion requests each month. The larger federated GraphQL specification has been influenced by the Wayfair GraphQL team, which has been welcomed to conferences and neighborhood events.  You'll carry out the following.

  •  in charge of creating the product strategy, roadmap, and discovery for the GraphQL Platform.

 You will require.

  •  7+ years of experience managing software products, with a focus on data-driven product discovery. a background in technical product work and project management across organizations.
  •  You have experience managing platforms, and you can spot generic capabilities that address the specific needs of clients, turning ideas into a roadmap and future vision for the platform.
  •  You can contribute to highly technical discussions and collaborate with your engineers to effectively shape the architecture.
  •  working with a clientele that is primarily made up of teams from within the company and having knowledge of or an interest in product managing development platforms.
  •  having experience scaling operations (for very high developer and web traffic).
  •  Understanding of performance and quality issues (latency, scalability, availability, and flame graphs).
  •  Strong communication abilities; able to explain difficult technical concepts while speaking comfortably with both engineers and non-engineers.
  •  GraphQL, federated GraphQL, Apollo, gateway, router, schema registry, and operation registry knowledge.
  •  understanding of the transition to service-based architectures.
  •  an understanding of the OKR planning model in use, as well as the capacity to define KPIs for development platforms.

 Although the base pay offered may vary depending on the employee's location, knowledge, skills, and experience in relation to the job, the salary range for this position is $161,000 to $172,000. In addition to a comprehensive package of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, the compensation package for the position may also include restricted stock units. This data is being provided pursuant to the California Equal Pay Act.

 This position can be filled by the Boston, Mountain View, Austin, Seattle, or Toronto offices. Alternatively, it might be wholly removed.
