- Our GraphQL Platforms team is utilizing cutting-edge technology to build one of the main data platforms that will power all of Wayfair's frontends. Even though Wayfair's transition to GraphQL is still in its early stages, the federated ecosystem already handles more than 10 billion requests every month. Invitations to conferences and community events have been extended to the Wayfair GraphQL team, and it has had an impact on the creation of the more comprehensive federated GraphQL specification. You'll execute:.
- in charge of creating the product strategy, roadmap, and discovery for the GraphQL Platform.
- Establish a long-term vision for a technical transformation that affects every aspect of Wayfair.
- Promote your services internally to the organization to make sure everyone is aware of your vision and how it supports their goals.
- You will be able to gain the leadership's support if you are transparent and can translate technical and domain-specific language into communications for large and senior audiences.
- When leading complicated initiatives that span numerous product and business domains, ensure coordination and complete understanding to achieve the best result for Wayfair.
- Working with your leads to streamline processes, build trust, and acknowledge accomplishments will help you keep your team motivated and healthy.
- Assist Wayfair in keeping its place as a pioneer in the GraphQL community.
You will require.
- Over 7 years of experience in software product management, with a focus on data-driven product discovery. a background in technical product work and project management across organizations.
- You have experience managing platforms, and you are able to identify generic capabilities that address the unique requirements of clients, translating concepts into a roadmap and vision for the platform's future.
- You are able to keep up in highly technical conversations and collaborate effectively with your engineers to create the architecture.
- working with a customer base that is primarily made up of internal team members and/or having an interest in platform product management.
- understanding of scaling operations (extremely high web traffic and developer activity).
- Understanding issues with latency, scalability, availability, and flame graphs in performance and quality.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; able to explain difficult technical concepts while speaking with both engineers and non-engineers.
- GraphQL, federated GraphQL, Apollo, gateway, router, schema registry, and operation registry knowledge.
- familiarity with the shift to service-based architectures.
- having experience creating KPIs for development platforms and using the OKR planning model.
The salary range for this position is $161,000 to $172,000, but the base pay may vary depending on factors like location, job-related expertise, skills, and experience, as well as other factors. The compensation package may also include restricted stock units in addition to a full array of financial, medical, and/or other benefits, depending on the position being offered. This information must be provided, per the California Equal Pay Act.
This position may be filled in Boston, Mountain View, Austin, Seattle, or Toronto. It also meets the criteria for being entirely remote.
