 You will be in charge of managing and leading a team of back-end and mobile engineers as they develop a checkout/transaction experience that Associates will use to support purchases at the member services desk as a senior engineering manager on the Sam's Tech Member Desk engineering team. You will collaborate closely with the product, UX, and operations teams to ensure that we create scalable, secure products for our Associates and Members.

 Our group is the engineering department at Sam's Tech Member Desk.

 Development and upkeep of the software and services used by the member services desks at all US Sam's clubs fall under the purview of the Sam's Tech Member Desk engineering team. Apps that handle membership signups, renewals, and upgrades as well as return processing and in-person purchases at the member services desk are included in this.

 You'll perform the following.

•  To improve productivity and cut down on waste, lead an engineering team, give guidance, and create high-quality software for our Associates and Members.
•  By educating the engineers on best practices, automated code testing, alerts, reporting, and adopting a proactive approach for production running app support, you can ensure software quality engineering.
•  To create and put into practice product development strategies, iterative and incremental development processes are used. Self-organizing, cross-functional teams work together on requirements and solutions. Adaptive planning, evolutionary development, and delivery are encouraged for quick and flexible response to change.
•  drives the execution of numerous business plans and projects by identifying operational and customer needs, developing and communicating business plans and priorities, removing performance-impacting barriers and obstacles, allocating resources, defining performance standards, monitoring progress and adjusting performance, developing backup plans as necessary, displaying adaptability, and encouraging continuous learning.
•  Working closely with the program and product manager, the scrum champion, and other stakeholders, ensure engineering work is appropriately targeted and prioritized.

•  Strong engineering leadership at the senior level in a medium- to large-sized company.
•  experience using the Native (Android or iOS)/React Native/NodeJS tech stack to develop customer-facing applications at scale.
•  complete Java/NodeJS development know-how for complex customer-facing applications.
•  engineering groups of the highest caliber that have been hired and successfully mentored.
•  controlling sophisticated systems under time constraints.
•  having at least some familiarity with one public cloud computing platform, such as GCP, Azure, etc.
•  working in large teams that use agile and CI/CD methodologies.
•  extremely strong oral and verbal communication abilities.
•  possess a BS or MS in computer science or a closely related technical field, as well as 12+ years of work experience.
