 Wayfair Machine Learning Science provides automation and decision support across all of its business units.

 To head one of Wayfair's recommendation science teams, the Search andamp; Recommendations Machine Learning Science team is seeking a senior manager with experience in machine learning. You will be a member of the leadership of Search & Recommendations in this position. To create a customized customer experience, you'll oversee a team of 5 to 10 machine learning scientists and engineers. You'll use customer behavior as well as content and product data from Wayfair. Using cutting-edge machine learning and deep learning methods, we are looking for a candidate to lead the team in developing and putting into practice personalized product recommendations, customer understanding, and content targeting strategies.

 In order to develop our next generation of personalization models, you will work closely with leaders in engineering, analytics, and product management. You will be responsible for developing a research agenda and seeing that it is carried out. By assisting Wayfair's suppliers in expanding the reach of their products, your work will enable Wayfair's customers to find their home needs more quickly and effectively. As part of this strategic role, you will support recommendations across our storefront, email, and marketing channels, serving billions of recommendations daily.

 Responsibilities:.

•  To develop, test, and deploy machine learning models for personalization, oversee a team of ML scientists and ML engineers.
•  oversee the creation of models and algorithms for targeted content targeting, understanding of customers, and personalized product recommendations.
•  Identify and prioritize new personalization opportunities and features in conjunction with stakeholders and Product Management using Wayfair's proprietary data, customer insights, business objectives, and data analysis.
•  To give our customers a completely unique and personalized experience, we must closely collaborate with our engineering partners to integrate any new and improved models into our platform.
•  In order to ensure high-quality personalization solutions, define and put into practice best practices for data collection, processing, and model training.
•  To ensure timely and successful delivery of personalization initiatives, manage project budgets, timelines, and resources.

 Requirements:.

•  advanced education in computer science, data science, statistics, or comparable experience.
•  data science or machine learning experience leading a team.
•  In a recommender system context, ideally, you have built, deployed, and maintained numerous machine learning models in use.
•  High level of comfort with programming in Python or Java, experience working with big data tools like BigQuery or Spark, and ideally knowledge of cloud-based platforms (we use GCP).
•  Ability to communicate concisely, deal with ambiguity in a dynamic environment with shifting priorities, and condense technical material for non-technical audiences.
