 How will your presence here affect things?

 In the Global Rewards Center of Excellence, this position, which reports to the Director Controller, is crucial. This position will contribute to the delivery of significant reporting and analytics for the US and international rewards programs by working closely with the larger team. The selected candidate will also support the transformation of finance technology (e.g., cloud computing) and serve as an advisor to US Business Partners across numerous business units (including GCSG and GCS). They will offer guidance on finance, accounting, and control procedures for significant business-driven rewards initiatives. g. executing the Finance Data Governance roadmap (e. g. R42, Falcon, Flare, etc.).

 The ideal candidate should not only be highly interpersonally skilled but also knowledgeable about the internal controls, operational and technical accounting, and financial systems of American Express.

 RESPONSIBILITIES.

 The duties of the position will be:.

  •  supporting Rewards' monthly accounting and reporting activities, ensuring the accuracy of the financial results, and persistently encouraging innovation and change.
  •  Support the modernization of the Rewards platform (R42); collaborate with technology groups to assess and develop specifications to make sure a controlled, orderly transition to the new platform.
  •  assisting with business and project endeavors to make sure that financial and control requirements and considerations are taken into account.
  •  communicating with technology organizations and important reporting systems.
  •  To promote automation and efficiency, close communication is maintained with each department within the company that is involved in the rewards process.

 REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS ARE:.

  •  Result-driven self-starter with the capacity to influence and lead without formal authority.
  •  powerful interpersonal and communication skills.
  •  the capacity to work under pressure and meet aggressive deadlines while balancing long- and short-term effects.
  •  Strong collaborator, capable of collaborating across the Enterprise to drive results while understanding and incorporating various points of view.

  •  Proven analytical skills; preference given to applicants with background in the rewards or loyalty industries.
  •  A plus is having a degree in accounting or finance and at least three years of experience in controllership, accounting, or finance roles.
