Vehicle Design for Reliability Engineering is seeking an exceptional data scientist with experience in the physical engineering fields of mechanical, electrical, and materials to work on projects that simulate the reliability of novel products and technologies in practical environments. Should you be hired, you will use your expertise in data analysis and programming to retrieve, model, analyze, and summarize test and field data so that cross-functional teams can use it to make crucial decisions about Tesla's vehicle products.
Exactly what you'll do.
Develop novel performance metrics based on the fundamental physics of the operation to accurately predict reliability in test and real-world environments.
By writing specialized code and scripts in Python or other programming languages, you can quickly access large datasets and perform analyses on them.
Create dashboards and other visualizations to effectively inform cross-functional teams about analyses.
The need for data-driven service replacement, repair, and maintenance should be researched and forecasted.
proactively improve and maintain projects based on feedback from the larger engineering team and integration with the Data Science, Design, and Test organizations.

two years or more of experience in data science, machine learning, and data optimization.
There is evidence of Python and SQL proficiency.
possessing expertise in deploying efficient queries in a distributed computing environment, as well as practical knowledge of Pandas and Pyspark data manipulation.
knowing using Matplotlib, Seaborn, Bokeh, Tableau, Power BI, or comparable visualization tools to build interactive visualizations and dashboards.
Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills, with experience collaborating and communicating with engineers from various engineering disciplines.
Maintain your initiative, positivity, and engagement under trying conditions. capable of making quick priority changes to meet deadlines.
a strong foundation in applied statistics and machine learning.
knowing the physics of failure and reliability engineering.
ETL, Airflow, and Spark Data Analyses knowledge is required for data piping.

a BS or higher in mechatronics, robotics, electrical engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience. a Ph. D. or an advanced degree. D. offers advantages.
2+ years of experience (including relevant internship or academic lab work) working on reliability, test development, and data analysis of mechatronics, preferably robotic systems.
