 American Express Cloud Engineering provides a comprehensive platform, enabling mission-critical applications for American Express to launch more quickly. Cloud Engineering offers dynamic, quick-to-develop models and services like Platform-as-a-Service, Infrastructure-as-a-Service, DB-as-a-Service, Analytics-as-a-Service, Messaging-as-a-Service, CICD Pipelines, etc. using a hybrid cloud infrastructure, for programmers. Cloud engineering offers the ability to develop modern, scalable, cloud-native applications.

 In order to develop our Hybrid Cloud Platform, American Express is seeking engineers with creative and critical thinking skills as part of its exciting Hybrid Cloud transformation.

 The tasks and obligations of this position.

 This position will report to the Cloud Engineering team.

 As a member of the gifted team creating our hybrid platform-as-a-service (PaaS), you will work on developing scalable, secure, and highly available cloud-based services in addition to gaining knowledge and exposure to a variety of other open source products as required.

 Your main responsibilities will be developing technical solutions to enhance the American Express Hybrid Cloud platform, with a focus on automating the provision of extremely scalable cloud services.

  •  Create scalable, high-performing, high-quality API and orchestration solutions in cooperation with the other members of the API engineering team, the UI engineering team, the quality engineering team, and product management.
  •  Do some research and use the newest software and libraries to support lean product development.
  •  Implement middleware/API programs that connect to NSQL, other systems, and partner platforms.
  •  To secure APIs, incorporate security software such as Okta, SSO, mTLS, HashiCorp Vault, and others.
  •  To create maintainable code, use best software practices such as integration, unit testing, code review, conformity to coding standards, and usability patterns.

  •  preferably a bachelor's degree in computer science or an equivalent degree.
  •  the ability to work with any cloud service provider (AWS, GCP, private cloud) for three years or more.
  •  6+ years of experience building REST APIs in Google GoLang or Java.
  •  6+ years of experience working with cloud engineering tools like Kubernetes, Openshift, Docker, CI/CD, etc.
  •  fantastic partner. excellent communication skills.
  •  profundity in the provider and consumer roles of the REST principle.
  •  It is necessary to have a solid understanding of NSQL databases, ideally ETCD and CouchBase.

 Salary range: $110,000-$190,000 annually, plus bonuses and benefits.
