 American Express is looking for creative engineers with strong critical thinking abilities to help us build our hybrid cloud platform.

 About this position and its obligations.

 This position will submit reports to the Cloud Engineering group.

 As a Cloud Engineer, you will collaborate with a knowledgeable team to create scalable, safe, and highly available cloud-based services for our hybrid platform-as-a-service (PaaS), while also gaining knowledge of and exposure to a variety of other open source products as required.

 Your primary responsibilities will be to develop technical fixes to enhance the American Express Hybrid Cloud platform, with a focus on developing automation for extremely scalable cloud service delivery.

  •  Together with the rest of the API engineering team, the UI engineering team, the quality engineering team, and product management, create scalable, high-performing, high-quality API and orchestration solutions.
  •  Look into and use contemporary software and libraries that support lean product development.
  •  Set up platforms, NSQL, and partner systems connectivity with API/Middleware solutions.
  •  Along with other tools, Okta, SSO, mTLS, and HashiCorp Vault are used to protect APIs.
  •  To create maintainable code, use the best programming practices, including usability patterns, code style conformity, integration, unit testing, and code review.

 Preferably a bachelor's degree in computer science or an equivalent degree.

  •  working with any cloud service provider (AWS, GCP, private cloud) for at least three years.
  •  REST API development experience for at least six years using Java or Google's GoLang.
  •  using Kubernetes, Openshift, Docker, CI/CD, and other cloud engineering tools for six years or more.
  •  outstanding coworker. excellent relationships with others.
  •  thorough knowledge of the REST principle, both as a provider and consumer.
  •  It is necessary to have a solid understanding of NSQL databases, ideally ETCD and CouchBase.
  •  strong familiarity with security integrations, such as HashiCorp Vault, Okta, mTLS, SSO, etc.
  •  familiarity with API Gateways and their functions.
  •  understanding of any of the technologies used for container orchestration, such as Kubernetes, Openshift, etc.
  •  a thorough understanding of the CI/CD process and tools like Git, Docker, Jenkins, Spinnaker, XL Release, etc.
  •  With a focus on code quality, unit testing, integration testing, code quality analysis tools, and API (Swagger) documentation, experience developing middleware solutions.
  •  the ability to develop applications using agile methods. general knowledge of QE processes.

 In addition to bonuses and benefits, the annual salary ranges from $110,000 to $190,000.

 The expected pay scale for this position is represented by the salary range shown above. Your pay will ultimately be based on your location, experience, and other factors related to your job.
