The Information Security Penetration Testing Team at Amazon is seeking a Security Engineer to help keep the company secure for its customers. You will conduct attacks on Amazon's services, software, and websites in this role to identify security holes and alert our internal technology teams to them. This position will present you with challenging opportunities in terms of technology and as a leader, but it will also be a lot of fun if the idea of hacking Amazon with a team of highly competent individuals appeals to you.

 A security engineer at Amazon is expected to have a wide range of knowledge. The engineers in this position work closely with information security teams and provide technical direction and advice to teams and leaders across Amazon. Face-to-face interactions with teams from a variety of industry sectors will allow you to gain first-hand understanding of the intricate technical details of how Amazon is created and runs. Additionally, you'll use your newly acquired knowledge of Amazon to develop novel approaches to the company's offerings, operations, and technological advancements.

 Engineers in this position need to use exceptional judgment when making technical trade-offs between short-term fixes and long-term security and business goals. You'll demonstrate resilience and manage ambiguous situations with poise and tact. You will be expected to perform discovery, invention, and innovation as part of your duties, and to exercise thought leadership for the business. Strong sense of customer obsession is necessary to concentrate on the main goal of keeping Amazon and its customers secure.

 Essential responsibilities of the position.

 * Carrying out exceptional individual or group application penetration tests.

 * Creating thorough records of the findings, gaps, and correction advice.

 * Creating, utilizing, and enhancing team tools.

 * Communicating and cooperating with partner teams, service owners, information security, and senior leadership to prioritize and move the fixing of discovered security issues forward.

 CONDITIONS GENERAL.

 * At least three years' experience in offensive security roles, such as penetration testing.

 * Three or more years of experience working professionally with security engineering techniques, such as network security, web application security, authentication and authorization protocols, cryptography, automation, and other software security disciplines.

 * Auditing manual and dynamic code for security flaws for at least three years.

 * Three or more years' worth of experience working with compiled or interpreted languages (e. g. Java, Python, C/C++, Ruby, and .NET).

 * A track record of success with threat modeling, design reviews, and other threat analysis techniques.

 * A baccalaureate degree in computer science or a closely related field, or equivalent work experience.

 PERFECT QUALIFICATIONS.

 * Knowledge of penetration testing for mobile apps.

 * Knowledge of cloud service providers and their array of technologies and services, preferably AWS.

 * Understanding of various security-related fields (e. g. applications, networks, systems, encryption, and incident response are all examples of security measures.

 * Information on developing security automation and tools.

 * Information about Bug Bounty programs, CVE research, or both.

 * A doctorate in computer science or a closely related discipline.
