Job Details:
- The Amazon Security Special Programs Evaluations Assessments and Response (SPEAR) team is looking for a Physical Security Build Standards Manager to join the SP2 team who is self-reliant, exceptionally talented, astute, and motivated. This position is remote and available anywhere. The SPEAR Governance team is responsible for creating, upholding, and implementing the AWS Physical Security Design Standards, which are the gold standard in these fields. The team's primary objective is to drive standard work in the construction of AWS data centers. The team uses defect identification, root cause analysis, and the creation of Corrective and Preventative Action (CAPA) to accomplish this.
- You will collaborate closely with other AWS Physical Security Teams, AWS Management, and internal customers in this role to aid in the practical mitigation of physical security risks for both new and existing AWS environments. This can be accomplished by creating new standards for physical security design and continually evaluating those that already exist. You will draft and publish updated and new build standards. You'll stay on top of new market developments that will strengthen the physical security foundation of AWS environments in order to look for opportunities to raise the security standard and lower costs. As they identify new risks, gaps in the current security controls, and improvements to them, a successful candidate will forge collaborative relationships with the compliance/evaluation teams, business partners, legal, and technology teams. Making sure that design standards are adhered to at all design milestones and that physical security standards are easily incorporated into all design disciplines will be made easier by working closely with design engineers.
- The ideal candidate for the position will have experience working at all levels across a variety of disciplines, including engineers for physical security systems and security risk managers from around the globe. You will be creative, organized, and able to deliver results on time and within the constraints of the project. You will also be knowledgeable about physical security best practices. You must be able to work independently because the position may require travel.
Primary responsibilities of the position.
• Work closely with the design engineering, evaluation, global security specialists, physical security architects, and data center security teams to develop, maintain, and interpret security design standards.
• Take the lead in the policy review process by making sure that governance documents are reviewed and updated in accordance with a set schedule.
• Consider the ambiguously worded policy requirements.
• As the initial point of contact for questions about general policy, assist internal clients.
