Structured and unstructured data should be analyzed and translated using statistical, financial, machine learning, or business intelligence techniques. Work with technology and other groups to implement risk management policies and business strategies. Find and evaluate fresh data sources, both legal and illegal, that might increase the profitability of American Express's products and services. Promote the continuous improvement of risk management frameworks and methodologies by utilizing internal and external best practices, as well as regulatory feedback when appropriate.
The position requires a master's degree in finance, statistics, mathematics, economics, operations research, engineering, computer science, business administration, or a related field, as well as two years of experience in data analysis and data warehousing. The minimum requirement for experience is one year of experience translating complex analyses for technical and non-technical audiences, one year of experience working with technical, analytical, business, and non-technical teams, one year of experience with functional and requirement analysis, and one year of experience with data modeling, including dimensional modeling, entity relationship, and schema design. Up to three days per week can be worked remotely.
