  •  As a Field Investigator, no two days will ever be the same, but overall you will be responsible for ensuring the safety of Target team members, property, and corporate structures as well as boosting profitability by concluding theft and fraud investigations and reducing shortage. You will support a shortage prevention and resolution culture by managing complex market/regional/national theft cases, including Organized Retail Crime (ORC), fraud, brand, and reputational issues, to make sure that the product is in stock and available to our visitors. You will need to develop them to prevent, detect, investigate, address, and recover from significant organized external and internal cases that could result in Target suffering a sizable loss. You will collaborate with Assets Protection teams from HQ, the field, and stores to compile the pertinent investigation charges and represent Target in court proceedings as needed.

 About you:

  •  an equivalent level of experience or a four-year degree.
  •  three or more years of experience in retail asset protection, loss prevention, or criminal justice.
  •  Obtain any necessary certifications, licenses, or permits from the state, the local government, or other organizations.
  •  being knowledgeable about both internal and external theft investigation methods.
  •  retail crime investigative experience.
  •  having experience interviewing people about theft.
  •  possessing expertise in specialized investigative techniques (surveillance, CCTV/DVR equipment, etc. ).
  •  the ability to present investigative findings to law enforcement or prosecutors.
  •  effective interpersonal skills.
  •  demonstrated the capacity to put change into action.
  •  work in a setting that is complex and undergoing rapid change.

 Depending on Target's requirements, this position might be eligible for a remote or hybrid work arrangement (internally referred to as "Flex for Your Day"). A team member who works remotely can work full-time without a desk at a Target location, from home or another non-Target location, and travel to the company's headquarters up to four times annually. Your core role may be carried out remotely or onsite at a Target location under a hybrid or flexible work arrangement, depending on what your role, team, and tasks are required for that day. Work obligations may not be performed, unless otherwise specified by Target, outside of the country in which the primary work location is situated.
