How will you proceed?
The configuration control engineer is the main point of contact for all component-related issues, modifications, and projects within the technical services department. This position updates Component Effectivity and Interchangeability data in FMIS and IPC Supplements and performs research on false information supplied by Requestors. engineering documentation is updated following a fleet viability analysis of proposed component changes.
Essential Goals.
- Utilize the Illustrated Parts Catalogue (IPC), Airworthiness Directives (AD), Service Bulletins (SB), and other technical data to efficiently locate and replace components in order to preserve the integrity of the IPC Supplement, FMIS, and component research database while working with little to no supervision.
- Work closely with the lessors and engineering to ensure complete compliance and substantiation.
- Support aircraft maintenance teams with the retrieval and analysis of aircraft data as needed.
- Support the aircraft maintenance department when an aircraft is urgently on the ground (AOG).
- Make sure the required documentation is in order for the authorization of aircraft components.
- Interpret and review technical data, drawings, Fleet Campaign Directives, Airworthiness Directives, Engineering Documents (EAs and EOs), Service Bulletins, and Title 14 of the Code of Federal Regulations.
- Examine the vendor SBs, engineering documents, and other supporting documentation to make sure the vendor complies with Title 14 of the Code of Federal Regulations and other requirements. Also, look for any necessary approvals.

Qualifications.
- A combination of pertinent education and experience will be considered in place of a degree. Minimum requirement is an associate's degree in aerospace engineering, aviation technology, or a related field, with a bachelor's degree preferred.
- Degrees may be substituted with a current FAA mechanic certificate with an Airframe and Powerplant (AandP) rating and equivalent experience.
- Quality systems education or experience is preferred but not required.
