What to be prepared for.
Tesla is currently seeking a highly skilled Desktop Support Technician to join our team locally in Las Vegas, Nevada. The IT Services position within the IT Operations division will be on the front lines of supporting Tesla's IT systems. A strong technical troubleshooter, excellent communicator, and willingness to collaborate with both technical and non-technical departments are required of the Desktop Support Technician because they represent IT. This position's primary duties will be to troubleshoot and resolve endpoint issues, install and support the systems, and assist with day-to-day operations for Tesla's global IT infrastructure in order to support the expansion of Tesla's initiatives.
What You Do.
This position requires intermediate proficiency in computer applications due to the duties it entails, including troubleshooting and resolving computer and mobile device hardware and software issues, telephony, printers, and networking, as well as offering onsite and remote support for the Tesla organization.
- managing the Active Directory, Exchange, and backup environments for Windows servers.
- Python or PowerShell scripting, ECM work, imaging, packaging, etc.
- utilizing business-grade remote imaging and administration tools like SCCM and JAMF.
- using and maintaining LAN, VPN, and DSL technologies.
- assemble, improve, and produce technical manuals and other operating guides for Tesla systems.
- working together with the team lead; elevated permissions to handle more challenging work in office 365's active directory.
- Senior executives receive daily help.
- completing tasks within the time limits outlined in the team's SLAs and/or project requirements while abiding by policy guidelines.
- resolving issues with iOS, Android, Mac OS, and Windows 10 mobile operating systems.
- Helpdesk technicians at a lower level are mentored and advised.
- the ability to read and understand technical material while communicating with clients using a variety of tools.
- the ability to prioritize tasks and efficiently and effectively manage workload.
What You'll Bring.
- four or more years of experience in desktop support.
- 4 years or more of experience working in a Windows or Mac environment, with some familiarity with Linux preferred.
- computer science, information technology, or a related field certificate or bachelor's degree. the preferred choice.
- It is preferred if you have excellent follow-up skills, strong attention to detail, and excellent customer service abilities.
