 About the Role:.

 Twitch is helping to develop the field of interactive entertainment. The Data Platform team developed and maintains the platform that Twitch uses to make data-driven decisions. Every day, our data pipeline receives over 220 billion events, and we enable decisions at all Twitch levels while sending real-time data to hundreds of systems. For data ingest, storage, transformation, movement, and comprehension, we provide tools.

 By creating datasets and data tools that power analysis across the entire platform, data engineers are at the forefront of Twitch's data-driven decision-making process. You will contribute to the definition of data transformation, scale analytics tools and techniques to support our growing business, and establish the benchmark for high-quality, prompt decisions. Additionally, you will influence how company performance is evaluated. Building self-service business intelligence infrastructure for analysts and connecting to data interfaces to enable data discovery and analysis across Twitch will be among your responsibilities. The company as a whole relies on our data warehouse as its source of truth. Driving data quality across product verticals and business areas will also fall under your purview. You will thus have the opportunity to interact with staff members across the entire organization, both technical and non-technical. Additionally, you will be answering to the Engineering Manager of the Data Platform - Insights.

 You'll carry out:.

•  Establish and own the team-level data architecture for the governed, dependable, and dimensionally-modelled data repository that enables Twitch staff to give prompt, accurate answers to inquiries about the company's operations.
•  It's important to identify, plan, and implement internal process improvements. Automating manual processes, enhancing data delivery, redesigning infrastructure for greater scalability, etc. are some examples.
•  Build the infrastructure necessary for the best data extraction, transformation, and loading from a variety of data sources using SQL and AWS "big data" technologies.
•  The quality of our work will be held to a higher standard if we protect existing data sources from problems with data quality, design, develop, and maintain a framework for ensuring data quality, and continuously enhance the processes for producing new ones.
•  We run unit, integration, and system tests on our data sources to validate the data against the source systems. Additionally, we continuously improve performance to speed up queries and reduce costs.
•  Enhance search, discovery, and literacy by incorporating exploration and visualization tools into our business intelligence (BI) tools and encouraging the use of these sources across the organization through educational and training initiatives.
•  Business and engineering teams may benefit from using best practices in data architecture, engineering, testing, and operational excellence to enhance their operations. By changing, data processing will be improved.

 ESSENTIAL NEEDS.

•  possess at least three years of experience in data engineering, software engineering, or a related field.
•  3+ years of experience working with relational database concepts, with a solid background in big data, OLAP, SQL tuning, and star schema.
•  a minimum of three years' experience building and maintaining data pipelines while collaborating with various stakeholders from different data sources.
•  understanding of development best practices, including documentation, code reviews, version control, and query optimization.
•  working knowledge of S3, EMR, Redshift, and other AWS services.
•  understanding of coding languages like Python, Java, and Scala.
