The use of data has altered Delta's business practices. As part of their role in maximizing the power of data, data engineers are responsible for making data accessible, available, and well-curated for reporting and analysis. Data engineering teams in Delta's Operations Analysis and Performance (OAP) division typically handle the following jobs: curating Single Source of Truth data tables for analytics teams to use, producing and distributing automated reporting in a modular and scalable way, leading initiatives to switch to modern data and reporting tools, and acting as a hub of knowledge for efficient data processing and management.
Responsibilities:.
- Find and gather information from a variety of sources for modeling, analysis, and project development.
- To clean and curate datasets, construct meaningful hierarchies from views. To do this, research new data sources, work with other business units to find the best source for the data, and look into new data sources.
- Be familiar with data environments and collaborate with others to improve automated reports and analyses in support of divisional leaders and business units.
- Utilize cutting-edge technologies and actively seek out efficient and worthwhile channels for disseminating data and analysis to meet divisional needs.
- Support cross-divisional and ad hoc business unit initiatives involving process improvement.
- Help other team members in a variety of disciplines by mentoring them.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS FOR SUCCESS: WHAT YOU NEED.
- 3+ years' experience in the relevant field.
- SQL and ETL/ELT pattern proficiency.
- proficiency with SAS, Python, and other tools and programming languages of a similar nature.
- Understanding of how to troubleshoot a reporting database environment.
