 Data has altered the way Delta conducts business. A data engineer's job is to maximize the power of data by making it readily available, understandable, and well-curated for reporting and analysis. The Operations Analysis and Performance (OAP) division of Delta typically uses data engineering teams to carry out the following tasks: curating Single Source of Truth data tables for analytics teams to use, producing and distributing automated reporting in a modular and scalable manner, leading initiatives to switch to modern data and reporting tools, and acting as a center of expertise for efficient data processing and management.

 Responsibilities:.

  •  Find and gather information for models, analyses, and project development from a variety of sources.
  •  Views should be arranged into logical hierarchies, and datasets should be cleaned up by examining new data sources and collaborating with other business units to identify the most appropriate data source.
  •  Develop automated reports and analyses in collaboration with others to support business units and divisional leaders. Be familiar with data environments.
  •  Utilize cutting-edge technologies and proactively look for efficient ways to communicate data and analysis in order to meet divisional needs.
  •  Support process improvement and project management efforts for both cross-divisional and individual business unit projects.
  •  Give advice and instruction to other team members in a variety of topics and skill sets.

 Minimum conditions must be met in order to succeed.

  •  three years' worth or more of relevant experience.
  •  proficiency with SQL and ETL/ELT pattern.
  •  knowledge of other programming tools and languages, such as SAS or Python.
  •  the ability to troubleshoot a reporting database environment.
