The Disney Cruise Line, Disney Parks, Experiences, and Products, as well as Media Networks (i.e. e. ABC, ESPN, Disney Theatrical Group, Studio Entertainment, etc. g. Broadway plays), Disney Interactive Media, and other companies in the core competencies of yield management, revenue planning, forecasting, pricing, and optimization. Important partners for DDSI include the departments of marketing, finance, business development, research, and operations. The Data Analytics consulting team uses technology, data analytics, optimization, statistical, and econometric modeling to investigate opportunities, shape business decisions, and produce business value. Candidates ought to have a natural interest in the "why" behind business performance, be proactive in problem-solving, have a results-driven mindset, be able to set priorities and perform well in a team setting.
Responsibilities:
Change the world by.
- supporting the supply chain, financial, marketing, and distribution projects that produce a high return on the company's investment. The interns help with this effort by:
- data collection, verification, and storage in R, Python Snowflake, SAS, and/or DBeaver.
- maintaining performance while making periodic and routine forecasts.
- using analytics to address business issues in finance and marketing.
- developing analytical answers for customers from various market sectors.
- maintenance of the technical system documentation.
- conducting market research and benchmark analysis.
- getting ready for the customer's deliverables.
- the use of visualization tools, the development of dashboards, and reporting.
- an exploratory and quantitative analysis of demand and sales data.
Basic prerequisites are:
- Your contributions to the job.
- abilities to solve problems analytically and strategically.
- incredibly intense attention to detail.
- proficiency with Tableau.
- a history of using SQL, Python, R, or SAS for data modeling or manipulation.
- background in economics or statistics.
- knowledge of data collection, analysis, and reporting.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for audiences of all technical levels.
- in a business environment that is rapidly changing, the capacity to manage multiple conflicting priorities.
- proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
- the ability to function well in a group as well as on one's own.
- Data on demand and sales are quantitatively and formally analyzed.
The following qualifications are ideal.
- demonstrated familiarity with Tableau or another data visualization tool, such as R Shiny.
- familiarity with forecasting methods and techniques.
- prior employment involving statistical analysis, including the creation of hypotheses, experimental planning, significance-setting, and post-experiment analysis.
- exposure to retail, eCommerce, merchandising, and/or consumer goods.
- data on marketing spend, online media purchases, and streaming/platform analytics knowledge.
Required academic readiness:
- If you are currently enrolled in graduate school, you must be pursuing a master's degree in analytics, statistics, mathematics, economics, operations research, industrial engineering, or a related quantitative field. If you have already earned your degree, you must submit your application within six months.
- GPA of three or higher.
Additional information:
- Must be a recent college or university graduate OR be enrolled in a Disney College Program or Disney Professional Internship during the semester or quarter (spring/fall) before participation in the internship program.
- There must be a minimum age of 18.
- presumably did not spend more than a year working on a Disney project.
- A legitimate, unrestricted work permit is necessary.
- Reliable transportation is required to get to and from work.
