The Information Technology Team within the Information Technology Division includes this position.
creating and maintaining web-based, Java applications that are suitable for mobile devices. The chosen candidate will have the chance to join an agile team where they will have the chance to collaborate with internal clients, management, business analysts, project managers, IT architects, and other developers to understand requirements and development needs while gaining valuable experience and skills.
What you're about to do.
Under the direction of senior developers, develops new applications and maintains current ones for the IT portfolios for corporate security, emergency planning and response, environmental and safety, and other areas. This work may include, but is not limited to, bug fixes, feature enhancements, and performance tuning.
- to improve current procedures, security, and performance, new technology is researched and put into practice.
- while troubleshooting and debugging complex problems, finds solutions and puts them into practice.
- Ensures tasks and projects are completed on time and within scope by working with a team to develop precise project specifications, requirements, and estimates.
- ensures deployments go smoothly and customer groups receive the right support by working with the production operations department.
- Validation of design decisions is documented.
- support the development group's implementation of new policies and procedures.
- supports the creation of coding standards and abides by the security and best practices outlined by the development team.
- reviews code as a participant.
- On-call production support is available whenever needed (24/7/365).
All you need to succeed.
- Education and prior work experience are the minimum requirements.
- a bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, technology, information systems (CIS/MIS), engineering, or a closely related technical field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Total development experience of two years.
- 1 year of experience with web applications or services.
Education and previous work experience are preferred qualifications.
- 2+ years of combined development experience.
- 2+ years of experience using web applications.
- knowledge of the airline industry.
Certifications, licenses, and skills.
- object-oriented programming basics to intermediate, as well as familiarity with design patterns, common data structures, and algorithms.
- Python, C, XML, HTML, JavaScript, CSS, GIT, JQuery, Angular, SOAP/REST, and other web development technologies require basic to intermediate development skills.
- proficiency with Microsoft Team Foundation Server (TFS) and GitHUB or Visual Studio.
- familiarity with Oracle and SQL Server, two relational databases.
- the capacity to carefully examine services and applications to make sure they abide by security guidelines.
- networking expertise (Sockets, TCP/IP, UDP).
- Excellent time management and prioritization abilities.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Personal dedication to Agile principles and a continuous improvement mindset.
- awareness of automated testing and TDD.
- understanding of OWASP and PCI Compliance standards.
- understanding of diagnostic software (SOAPUI, Fiddler, IE Inspector, HTTP Analyzer, and Dynatrace).
