OUR NEED FOR YOUR SUPPORT (SUMMARY AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES).
At Delta Air Lines, we're constantly looking for new ways to adopt cutting-edge technology and improve the customer experience. For the sake of achieving this objective, we are hiring an AI software engineer to join the innovation team. We work on projects that touch every aspect of the business, from the complex global operation to the online booking process. We're looking for someone passionate about using machine learning and artificial intelligence to develop solutions to significant practical issues.
What response would you give?
- Working with a group of engineers and our partners from various divisions, identify and categorize business issues that artificial intelligence can resolve.
- Actively participate in the creation of a plan for the infrastructure, tools, and frameworks that your team should employ when conducting proof-of-concept tests and pilots for AI solutions.
- To demonstrate how artificial intelligence has impacted Delta's various business units, develop proofs-of-concept and prototypes.
- Make a collection of reusable models and solutions for rapid prototyping.
- Develop an AI-first mindset and assist Delta in democratizing AI.
What is it like to work on the innovation team?
- Engineers, designers, and strategists make up our multidisciplinary team. We believe we can make travel less complicated than it currently is.
- We lead our programs, such as democratizing innovation across Delta and assessing the effects of disruptive trends on our industry, in addition to working with business units on specific initiatives.
- We have an office in Midtown Atlanta, just a short drive from Delta HQ, to be at the center of the Atlanta tech scene, but we frequently travel there to innovate with our business partners.
- Our team's values are agility, curiosity, inclusivity, futurism, and empathy.
If so, you might be a good fit for this position.
- You are a doer who takes great pride in providing amazing experiences for users, whether they are customers or coworkers. You tend to be more action-oriented, and you have good vocational skills for finding the data and resources you require to complete the task.
- You enjoy working with people and take pride in your capacity to understand others. You don't think twice to ask for help when you need it or to help out your teammates.
- You firmly hold onto your flimsy beliefs, but you don't hesitate to change them in light of new information or to acknowledge your ignorance.
- We are genuinely curious about how we can lessen the suffering of our passengers during the entire journey.
- Have a strong grasp of our client's needs and a passion for travel.
The following information should be included in your portfolio, cover letter, and application.
- any side AI/ML projects you have worked on recently.
- a background that is pertinent to travel, aviation, or the airline business.
TO SUPPORT YOUR CONTINUED ASCENT, PERKS, AND BENEFITS.
The opportunity to travel the world is just one perk of working for Delta, and we also provide great benefits to help you succeed.
- industry-leading profit-sharing program, competitive salary, and 401(k) with generous direct and company contributions.
- Life insurance, medical, dental, and vision benefits are all included in comprehensive health benefits.
- a comprehensive program of well-being that emphasizes the value of social, financial, physical, and mental well-being.
- having the ability to travel both domestically and abroad.
What You Need to Succeed, Minimum Requirements.
- Three to four years' worth of work and academic experience in artificial intelligence and machine learning.
- knowledge of at least one general-purpose programming language, such as but not limited to Python, R, Java, C++, or C.
- Significant experience with Python programming, as well as familiarity with the complexities of Python's sophisticated software development techniques.
- knowledge of natural language processing, classification, pattern recognition, sentiment analysis, and other related fields.

- the safety and security of personal data are given top priority.
- accepts a variety of people, viewpoints, and strategies.
- has a high school diploma, a GED, or something comparable.
- Has a valid work permit to enter the US and is at least 18 years old.
Priority qualifications are those that will give you a competitive edge.
- a bachelor's degree in engineering or computer science, or the equivalency of experience.
